How AI Interviews Work
Rekroots uses AI to power AI-based first-round interviews. Here's everything you need to know before you start.
1. What is an AI Interview?
When a recruiter enables AI-powered screening, you'll receive an email with a unique interview link. Instead of scheduling a call, you complete a 15–20 minute conversational interview with an AI at any time — day or night. No downloads, no scheduling friction.
2. Two types: AI Interview vs AI Assessment
AI Interview is a conversational format — the AI asks role-relevant questions and evaluates your responses naturally. AI Assessment is a proctored format — your camera is on, and the system monitors for integrity flags like tab-switching or face absence. Recruiters choose which type fits their role.
3. How are you scored?
Your responses are evaluated across four dimensions: communication clarity, thought process, technical fit, and overall coherence. These are averaged into a score out of 100. The AI also provides a written summary and a recommendation (Proceed / Review / Reject) to the recruiter.
4. Is it fair?
AI interviews remove common human biases — appearance, accent, gender, and time-of-day fatigue don't affect your score. Every candidate is evaluated on the same criteria with the same questions for the same role.
5. What does the recruiter see?
Recruiters see your score, the AI's recommendation, a written summary of your responses, and — for proctored assessments — a flag count if any integrity events were detected. They do not see a recording of your face in a standard AI Interview.
6. Privacy
Your interview data is stored securely and only accessible to the company that invited you. Rekroots does not share your interview results with any third party. You can request deletion of your interview data by contacting support@rekroots.com.
7. What if something goes wrong?
If your connection drops mid-interview, your progress is saved and you can resume from where you left off using the same link. If the link has expired, contact the recruiter directly to request a new one.
